Terex AWP Steps Up Customer Service with New Facilities

REDMOND, WASH. (Aug 27, 2009) – Furthering its commitment to deliver unparalleled customer service, Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) held a grand opening today of its new Parts and Logistics Center, located in North Bend, Wash., just east of Seattle.

The new facilities are comprised of two buildings: a logistics facility totaling 42,000 square feet and a parts warehouse totaling 150,000 square feet. The warehouse will serve as a place to both store and manufacture parts for Genie® booms, scissors and aluminum products.

“We are very excited about our new North Bend location. With additional space and room to grow, customers can expect to see additional items added to our parts line-up,” said Siva Balakrishnan, Vice President Global Services, Terex AWP. “We also aim to increase our already excellent fill-rate with our improved operations.”

Terex AWP and Seacon Construction worked to design the facilities from the ground up in order to meet the complex needs of shipping and receiving the popular Genie® aerial equipment and material lifts. Once Genie® units have been manufactured in Redmond, they will be sent to North Bend for consolidation and shipping.

“The new facilities provide us with the opportunity to move away from Redmond’s traffic congestion, offering improved freeway access for shipping and receiving our equipment and parts,” said Balakrishnan.

There will be up to 105 Team Members employed initially at the North Bend location. The site will be staffed Mondays – Fridays, 5am – 6pm.

The new parts and logistics facility is an important component of the new Genie 360°™ offerings. Genie 360°™ is a comprehensive collection of customer support services - ranging from parts to refurbishment- provided by a dedicated team of professionals.
